Product story
Hội An is one of our favorite places in Vietnam, a town we’ve returned to many times and never grown tired of. So when we decided to create a model inspired by Vietnam, Hội An was the very first place that came to mind. We spent three months designing this piece, researching the town’s history, architectural influences, and cultural layers. From its distinctive yellow walls and wooden façades to the rhythm of old trading streets, we carefully selected the elements that best represent Hội An’s timeless character and quiet beauty.

Why choose Viendor?
We make awesome DIY model kits at a fair price.
Precision cutting? Premium material? Architectural accuracy? Let's be honest... that's the minimum these days.
We'd rather spend our time creating miniature worlds you'll actually remember.
Hoi An Old Town – A Timeless Lantern Street
Hoi An was once one of Southeast Asia’s most important ancient trading ports, welcoming merchants from China, Japan, and Europe. The historic Chinese merchant quarter, with its beautifully decorated assembly halls, temples, and wooden shop houses, reflects the strong early Chinese influence that helped shape the town’s architecture and culture. Today, those same yellow-walled buildings and tiled roofs still line the streets, glowing softly under hundreds of silk lanterns.
This miniature scene recreates that atmosphere in delicate detail — lanterns hanging from balconies, old merchant houses, riverside cafés, and warm light reflected on the water. When illuminated, the model feels like walking through Hoi An at dusk, where centuries of history and romance come alive.
Whether you’ve visited or simply dream of going, this Book Nook brings the timeless spirit of Hội An to your bookshelf.
Book Nook Can Be More Than One Thing
A Thoughtful, One-of-a-Kind Gift
A Book Nook makes a meaningful gift for someone you care about. You can personalize it with small decorations, handwritten notes, photos, or symbols that matter to you — turning a beautiful model into a truly personal keepsake.
A Relaxing, Hands-On Experience
Build at your own pace and enjoy the quiet satisfaction of assembling each piece. With hundreds of details, a Book Nook can easily fill an evening or a weekend, helping you unwind, focus, and enjoy the process as much as the final result.
A Beautiful Piece to Show Off
Whether it’s your first Book Nook or one of many, it looks great on a desk, bookshelf, or TV cabinet. Fair warning though — once you start, you’ll probably want a dedicated shelf just for them. They really are that good.
Finished this at midnight, stood there staring at it like a proud idiot, then immediately started browsing other designs 😂
Some tabs were tight, some tiny pieces felt nerve-wracking, but honestly that’s part of the experience.
Finished one. Immediately bought another. Send help.
Le bois semble de meilleure qualité que d’autres kits similaires que j’ai essayés.
Friends keep asking where I bought it.
Everything was organized, nothing messy. Love when brands actually care about presentation.
Love all the Viendor booknooks, awesome quality
This is my first Book Nook and I’m very happy with the quality. It’s just as cute and detailed as I hoped it would be. I visited Hoi A with my Mom and got us each one for fun and to remember the nice day we had there. Definitely try Vietnamese Salt Coffee if you ever get a chance! The model is beginner friendly but I did want an exacto knife and cutting mat and some glue. Enjoy!
Thank you Cathy, hope to see you again soon!
